About Us | Calceviva, or quicklime, is a compound obtained by mixing together lime with water. The oxygen content in the water upon contact with lime triggers a reaction, from which energy is released and heat is produced: the new element seems to boil, thence its name quicklime. The company was established and developed in the fertile region of Apulia, in the Italian peninsula, where the quicklime is used in a variety of ways, particularly for the typical architecture of the place: The Trulli. Calceviva, like quicklime, was founded in 2005 by the union of two different elements: Bruno Simeone, Fashion Designer, and Daniele Del Genio, Management Engineer. And it is precisely the typically Mediterranean atmosphere that unify the founders, the whole staff and the partners together: passion and enthusiasm, light and warmth, creativity and aesthetic taste, sense of tradition and decades of experience in the textile industry combined with stylistic and managerial innovation.

Analysis of the Trend Fabrics and Patterns
Trend research is a creative hypothesis and is applied to stylistic consultancy from the beginning, when the customer describes his collection’s vision. The staff at the style office then starts researching and analyzing the sector by studying and detecting basic elements that will be used in the executive design: colours, fabrics, prints. Thanks to the diversification of skills we are able to lay solid foundations for the collection, giving the right balance between style, textile composition and colour.
Design of the style: Moodboard and Concept
A single image can generate different emotions and feelings. Thanks to our moodboard, we can summarize the entirety and complexity of the various elements in order to give life to the perfect inspiration. The moodboard allows us to tell a story and create a concept to better describe what the collection aims to communicate with the inclusion of a colour chart, selected fabrics and all the techniques to be used during production.




Design Collections
The practical phase of the creative process is the moment when all ideas com out in the form of stylized works. The manually worked sketch is combined with texture of fabrics. By digitizing the process we can make the design as close as possible to the reality we are aiming for.


Modelling and Prototyping
The patternmaker is the one who technically designs the garment. The modelling office realizes the pattern using traditional techniques and CAD software for the digitization of the models, taking care of every technical aspect from the wearability of the single garment, to the calculation of average consumption for each size to be developed, so that we can optimize waste in economic terms for the customer.



Realization of Prototypes
The modelling office deals with drawing up technical datasheets of the sketch, the related technical details and details of development. It is also used as our guideline and for packaging the sample product. The modelling office also takes care of creating prototypes by cutting the garment, thus generating a paper pattern ready for industrial or sartorial production.
Photo Shoot
We strengthen the brand of our customers by exploiting the power of images, expressing the character and strength of the products. For the setting up of the stage we combine our customers’collections with locations, colours and fabrics. We support companies in the design and implementation of photo shoots.



Trade Fairs
We offer our expertise to our customers. We offer skills in various fields and for different needs, by supporting companies and their brands, in the design and implementation of photo shoots and exhibition installation too.
